Globfield International is seeking a Procurement & Supply Chain Coordinator (National Position) to oversee procurement, logistics, and supply chain operations for the implementation of a United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), Foreign Agricultural Service (FAS) McGovern-Dole International Food for Education and Child Nutrition Program. This role will ensure efficient procurement, timely delivery, and compliance with donor regulations to support the program’s food distribution and operational needs over a 60-month project duration with an anticipated budget of $25 million.
The McGovern-Dole program’s core objectives include:
· Improved literacy of school-aged children through enhanced educational materials, teacher training, and improved attendance.
· Increased use of health, nutrition, and dietary practices by strengthening school feeding programs, food preparation safety, and nutrition education.
· Strengthened local capacity through engagement with governments, community organizations, and public-private partnerships to ensure sustainability.
Key responsibilities:
· Lead procurement processes, ensuring compliance with USDA/FAS and institutional procurement policies.
· Manage vendor selection, contract negotiations, and supplier relationships to ensure cost-effective procurement.
· Oversee transportation and logistics for commodity delivery, coordinating with suppliers and warehousing teams.
· Ensure timely procurement of food commodities, equipment, and supplies needed for program implementation.
· Maintain accurate inventory and tracking systems, ensuring transparency and efficiency in supply chain operations.
· Monitor market trends and conduct price assessments to optimize purchasing decisions.
· Develop risk mitigation strategies for procurement challenges, transportation delays, and commodity loss prevention.
· Ensure quality control measures for food safety, packaging, and storage of procured commodities.
· Work closely with finance and operations teams to align procurement with budgetary and compliance requirements.
Qualifications:
· Bachelor\'s degree in supply chain management, procurement, logistics, business administration, or a related field.
· Minimum of 7 years of experience managing procurement and supply chain operations for donor-funded projects.
· Strong knowledge of procurement regulations, including USDA/FAS policies and compliance frameworks.
· Experience in vendor management, contract negotiations, and supplier coordination.
· Proven expertise in logistics planning, commodity storage, and transportation coordination.
· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills in procurement and supply chain risk management.
· Fluency in French is required; proficiency in English is a plus.
